The Grande Canal

The water is impossibly green. Getting close to it and sitting on one of the many docks. You’re effectively in the Grande Canal,  watching all the different boats go by, it’s mesmerizing.

Flooding Venice with life, the sun reflects on the emerald water. Glistening and highlighting the movement of the city. It’s hard to not fall in love with Venice, even the most jaded of person has to respect the beauty of the city.

I wouldn’t recommend touching the water – at least that’s what I’ve been told, but it’s almost inevitable as the amount of boats travelling down the canal means the water never lies still. It’s constantly splashing and in movement, yet at the same time peaceful. You can get lost for hours just staring at the water.
