4 July 2015 — Announcement
Graham Fagen Publication Competition Launch
Scotland + Venice and Hospitalfield are pleased to announce the production of two new publications in connection to Graham Fagen’s exhibition in Venice which opened in May and a chance to win a signed copy.
On the occasion of the exhibition a catalogue has been published documenting the new body of work, and providing a range of insights and perspectives on the development of Graham Fagen’s practice, featuring new texts by: Katrina Brown; Penelope Curtis; and Louise Welsh with an introduction by Lucy Byatt, Director of Hospitalfield. Hospitalfield has also worked with Matt’s Gallery and Graham Fagen to create The Slave’s Lament a limited edition 10 inch vinyl record which is a double A-side featuring two mixes of the audio work made in collaboration with composer Sally Beamish, producer Adrian Sherwood, singer Ghetto Priest and musicians from Scottish Ensemble. The lyrics are from the Robert Burns poem of the same name written in 1792.
In celebration of these two projects we are offering a signed copy of the Graham Fagen book designed by Richy Lamb, a signed copy of the record and four signed A1 Scotland + Venice posters designed by Maeve Redmond as competition prizes. Anyone signed up to Scotland + Venice’s mailing list by the end of July will be in with a chance to be selected in a random draw to win one of these.
