Invigilators’ Breakfast Club
On Monday we opened up the doors of the Scotland+Venice apartment to the Invigilators’ Breakfast Club, the weekly morning meet-up of invigilators from across the pavilions and collateral events of the Biennale.
The Breakfast Club was started by Louise Hobson, a member of the Wales in Venice team, and opens up a relaxed space for conversation over shared food, hosted by a different team of invigilators each week.
We shared a feast of fresh fruit, pastries and home-made tattie scones with around 20 other invigilators from the pavilions of Australia, New Zealand, Wales, Ireland, Singapore, Indonesia and Great Britain. Sitting around a big table and eating together seems to encourage generous and interesting conversations, and the Breakfast Club makes it easy to meet and engage with the community of early career artists working as invigilators in Venice.
