22 January 2024 — Announcement

Scotland + Venice Survey Launched

Survey Share your experience of, and hopes for the Scotland + Venice project. Deadline 16 February 2024.

We’re inviting people involved in the visual arts and architecture to share their experience of, and hopes for the Scotland + Venice project. An initial survey is now open, with a deadline of 16 February.

Since 2003 Scotland + Venice has been a significant, flagship project that promotes the best of contemporary art and architecture from Scotland on the world stage at the Venice Biennale.

The achievements of the Scotland + Venice project to date are significant, but there are resourcing and capacity challenges that need to be addressed.

Culture Radar, commissioned by Creative Scotland on behalf of the Scotland + Venice Partners, is reviewing the project’s effectiveness and future viability, including in the context of the climate crisis.

The review is supported by Andrew Ormston of Drew Wylie Projects, Moira Jeffrey of SCAN and Jude Barber of Collective Architecture.

This survey is the first step in our review process. At this stage we are inviting people working in or connected to the visual arts, or architecture and the built environment in Scotland to take part. There will be further opportunities for engagement later in the spring.

The survey will take 10-15 minutes to complete and will be open from 22 January to 16 February 2024.
